            More images coming....

In February and March of 2011, I drove to the California desert, taking about 2,000 photographs of Red Rock Canyon State Park, Joshua Tree National Monument, Mormon Rocks, Palm Springs, and Palm Canyon, and places in between and on the way there and back.

I was fascinated by the forms of rocks and trees, and look forward to painting a series of desert scenes.

This is the first, which I painted on site, as the sun went down, at the top of Racquet Canyon Road, in Palm Springs. You can read a little about it, and see a photo of the painting on the easel, and the rocks and mountains around it, on my blog at www.KarenLynnIngalls.blogspot.com.
